Shelley qualified as a clinical psychologist in South Africa in 1987, where she worked in private practice, in a long term alcoholic treatment centre, and as a clinical neuropsychologist. Since immigrating to Australia in 2003, Shelley has worked in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings in the public health sector. She established Logan Clinical Psychology in 2008, with the aim of setting up a clinic that would provide affordable, evidence based treatments to all sectors of the community.

Shelley has extensive experience working with anxiety and mood disorders, and has a particular interest in helping clients who struggle with anxiety in all its manifestations. She is committed to helping people live fuller, more meaningful lives and strives to provide a therapeutic atmosphere that is safe, respectful and compassionate. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a contemporary cognitive behaviour therapy grounded in extensive scientific research is Shelley’s preferred therapeutic framework. She also has training in more traditional Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, and she uses EMDR ( Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) in the treatment of PTSD.

Besides clinical work, Shelley provides supervision for post graduate students and clinical psychologist registrars as well as fully registered psychologists. As in therapy, Shelley strives to develop relationships in supervision that are caring and supportive.
